See pictures from Chanel’s spring/summer 2015 show.
Wow. These are the most immaculately put together street style snaps we’ve ever seen. Except they’re not of course. This is Boulevard Chanel- a street which within the Grand Palais was painstakingly put together for another fashion week outing for the house, that can only be described as epic. In a show based on what’s essentially a French tradition of protest, the pictured girls- who’s expressions and pace in some way already suggested they meant business, were followed by a placard wielding demonstration. So rousing was Lagerfeld’s theme this season, it’s a wonder we didn’t raise from our seats and demand a megaphone to join in. Luckily the succession of outfits- which we decided were better viewed from the front row than the runway itself, kept us from causing a scene. The collection saw a brilliant kind of clash between the bourgeois and the decidedly out there. House codes were pushed to their primmest in one instance, and married with an element of the brazenly carefree the next. Our favourite examples included tweeds paired with psychedelic print, and the latest smile raising accessory- a bag made to resemble a Chanel jacket, hastily tied around an otherwise pristine ensemble.
